Auto-link orders to buying groups
Updated View as Markdown
Auto-link sets the buying group on new orders, so you do not have to set it on every order. An order shipped to one of a group's warehouse addresses, or an order email sent to one of a group's email aliases, is linked to that group.
Set it up
- Go to Settings › Library › Buying groups and choose Manage on a group.
- Under Shipping addresses, add each warehouse or jig address you ship that group's orders to. Street and ZIP code are required.
- Under Email aliases, add each email address that gets that group's order emails, such as a plus-alias like [email protected].
Any signed-in member can set these up, on every plan.
Good to know
- Enter aliases exactly as they appear on your order emails, with any dots and "+" part.
- Known warehouses: many buying group warehouses are already known, so orders shipped to them link with no setup. Your own addresses come first.
- Learning: when you set the group on an order by hand, its address is added to that group, marked "Auto-detected".
- The extension: orders imported with the Chrome extension are linked the same way.
Other ways an order gets its group
- You set it in the add-order form, in the CSV
buying_groupcolumn, or on the order. - When you send tracking by hand to BFMR or BuyingGroup.com for an order with no group, the order gets that group.
- Group integrations link receipts and reservations to orders. See each group's page under supported buying groups.
Short names in a CSV file
During a CSV import, short names such as "D&R", "P4D" or "B4P" are matched to the right group. You confirm each guess on the review screen.
