# Refer a friend > Share your invite link. Your friend gets a 30-day Pro trial, and you get one free month of Pro after your friend pays for a plan. Refer a friend is the BuyingGroupPro program that gives you one free month of Pro for each friend who joins with your invite link and pays for a plan. Your friend gets a 30-day Pro trial. You can share your link on every plan, including the Free plan. ## Share your link 1. Open [Settings](https://www.buyinggrouppro.com/settings/?tab=invite) and select Refer a friend. 2. Select Copy link. 3. Send the link to your friend. The tab also shows your invite code. Your friend can type this code on the sign-up form. The code field is under the Have an invite code? link. A friend who signs up with Google must use your link, not the code. ## What your friend gets Your friend makes a new account on the BuyingGroupPro website with your link or code. The account starts with a 30-day Pro trial, with no credit card. A usual trial is 14 days. When the trial ends, nothing is charged, and the account moves to Free. An account made in the iPhone or Android app does not use the invite. It starts on Free, and it does not earn you a free month. Invite links are for new accounts. A member who is signed in and opens an invite link sees their own Refer a friend tab. ## What you get Your friend pays for a plan. We wait 14 or more days, and we examine the invite. Then we send you one free month of Pro: - Monthly plan: a credit for one month of your plan. The credit goes to your next bill. - Yearly plan: a credit for 1/12 of your yearly price. The credit goes to your next bill. - Free plan or trial: 30 days of Pro at no cost. If you are on a trial, the 30 days start when the trial ends. Then your account goes back to Free. We do not charge you. - If your plan is set to cancel, the 30 days of Pro start when your paid period ends. - If you already have free days of Pro, the new 30 days start when they end. The 30 days of Pro include everything in Pro, except that real ACH payout requests start only when you pay for a plan. If you pay for a plan during the 30 days, your paid plan starts at once. You do not keep the free days that are left. A credit is for a maximum of $99. A credit has no cash value. We send you an email when a friend joins and when you get a free month. To stop these emails, select Stop invite emails on the Refer a friend tab. ## Limits - Your friend must make a new account. An existing account does not count. - You cannot invite yourself or a second account of your own. - You get one free month for each friend. - You can get a maximum of 12 free months in 12 months. When you reach this limit, your friends still get the 30-day trial with your link. - Your friend must confirm their email address within 30 days after they make the account. - Your friend must pay for a plan within 12 months after they make the account. - BuyingGroupPro staff cannot take part. ## When we do not send a free month - Your friend did not pay for a plan. The trial alone does not earn a free month. - A payment that we return to your friend, or that the bank reverses, does not count. - Your friend made the account in the iPhone or Android app. - When the free month is due, you already got 12 free months in the last 12 months. We do not send this free month later. - You or your friend closed the account before we sent the free month. - The invite does not follow the limits above, for example an invite to your own second account. We can examine an invite before we send the free month. If we find a problem after we send a free month, we can cancel the credit or end the 30 days of Pro early. ## See your status The Refer a friend tab shows three counts: Friends joined, Friends who paid and Free months earned. Friends joined counts the friends who confirmed their email address. When a friend has paid and the free month is not sent yet, the tab shows it as On the way. The tab shows counts, not the names or email addresses of your friends. The Plan tab in Settings shows the date when your free days of Pro end.
